On 26 May 2025, the Research Hub CIAC-PLDIS at IPSantarém and ISTEC Lisboa hosted a dynamic event at the School of Education, Santarém Polytechnic University, bringing together around 100 researchers, educators, and innovators committed to rethinking the role of Artificial Intelligence in education and society.
A central focus of the day was a hands-on workshop rooted in the Erasmus+ project ANALYSIS, which provided both a conceptual framework and practical tools for tackling disinformation using AI. Participants engaged directly with AI-powered systems designed to detect misinformation, verify sources, and support the development of critical media literacy skills.

Through real-world case studies and live demonstrations, attendees explored the capabilities of the ANALYSIS platform, which integrates academic research with advanced analytics to assess media content. The session highlighted how AI can strengthen fact-checking workflows, uncover manipulation techniques, and address ethical challenges in digital communication.
More than just a technical showcase, the workshop served as a model for research-driven digital literacy education, prompting reflection on the limits and responsibilities of using AI in media environments. The emphasis on ethical awareness and critical thinking made it clear that the ANALYSIS project goes beyond technology—it’s about empowering educators and learners to navigate today’s complex information landscape.
In a dedicated presentation, the project team shared the broader objectives of ANALYSIS: promoting media literacy across Europe through innovative digital tools and pedagogical strategies. Updates on current activities, impacts on teaching practices, and student engagement underlined the value of interdisciplinary collaboration in combating misinformation.
By bridging AI technology with educational practice, the ANALYSIS project stands out as a vital initiative for fostering informed, critical, and digitally resilient communities.
